UK: Now-a-Days Hackers can do everything, if your city is being controlled through digitalization, and everywhere it needs to implement a Network to control the services like food distribution, telecommunications networks or energy supplies.

So, UK Government rolled out a new crime law against hackers in which Hackers can face life sentences, means if a hacker harms the the service we talked above will be sentenced for whole life.

Ministers are concerned that malicious saboteurs who use the internet to spark civil unrest could get off lightly under current legislation.

The UK government will seek to amend the 1990 Computer Misuse Act “to ensure sentences for attacks on computer systems fully reflect the damage they cause.”

Currently, the law provides for a maximum sentence of ten years’ imprisonment for those who commit the offence of impairing a computer. A new, aggravated offence of unauthorised access to a computer will be introduced into the Computer Misuse Act by the government, carrying far longer sentences.

In Simple Words, a hack that causes deaths, serious illness or injury, or is found to seriously damage to UK National security will be sentenced for Life under the proposed new law.

‘Our reliance on computer systems and the degree to which they are interlinked is ever increasing and a major cyber attack on our critical infrastructure would have grave consequences, said Karen Bradley, the Minister for Organised Crime.

‘This Bill would ensure that in the event of such a serious attack those responsible would face the justice they deserve,’ he added.

So Hackers, its time to stay away from UK Government systems :)
