A Big News for AOL users, as their mail service seems to be hacked, users reported that their accounts being used to send spam mails to others.

AOL official confirmed the hack, thousands of users already complained about this issue on twitter.

Right now, it is not confirmed-how widespread the issue is.

“AOL takes the safety and security of consumers very seriously, and we are actively addressing consumer complaints,” AOL said in a statement. “We are working to resolve the issue of account spoofing to keep users and their respective accounts running smoothly and securely.”

AOL users’ email accounts are sending spam messages that contain link which could lead to malware, viruses or phishing attacks, if you are an AOL user, so check out your sent folder, if any of the mail you find that you didn’t sent, that means you account has been hacked, and its time to change the password right now.

AOL recommends users change their passwords and visit their help pages on spoofing and security more info.

The official AOL Mail Help Twitter page has also been responding to users’ tweets from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PT.
